England got a very good draw. :clap2: USA could prove a potential banana skin, but could have been much worse.

Group G is going to be very interesting. Brazil, Portugal and Ivory Coast are all top teams, great fot the neutral!

My second favorite is England ... U.S.A won Spain in last summer 2009 . a little bit dangerous ! Slovenia ? ummm eastern europe. serbian football, dangerous too.

Capello is the best . I am sure he already got a good plan about it :D .

Italy got it easy, LOL @ N. Korea! :haha: They will get raped by all those mighty teams, real tough group, Brazil surely will advance while Portugal will struggle to clinch the 2nd. spot, IC is not going to be a walk in the park for neither one of the 2 world powerhouses!

England's group is also somewhat easy, I have a feeling that USA will pull some upset and advance to the next round along with England!

The biggest injustice for me was the fact France (who shouldn't be there in the first place) were drafted against the host seeded team SA, arguably the easiest of all.

For me it's hard to see any team (inc Brazil) beating Spain. They are just so far above everyone else in terms of technical ability and striking talent. Although anything can happen in a tournament atmosphere, i'm predicting a few suprises from the African teams this world cup despite having tough draws.

So excited for these finals to get underway. Spain have got to be the firm favourites, though it looks like they may be without Xavi, Torres and Fabregas to start!! We (England) have the best chance for many years to win, though as last world cup proved, it is a lottery! Teams that scraped through qualifying such as France and Portugal will probably progress well, such is the nature of the tournament.

As much as I love Brazil and wish for their championship in the WC, but realistically speaking Spain and England look way too strong for any other opponents in this edition of WC tournament. My second fave team after Brazil is England. So I am betting on either Spain's or England's championship this year. Argentina and Netherlands also look dangerous!

Well, they are not the only teams to omit talented players from their squad. I was disapointed to hear today that Theo Walcott will NOT make the England squad :(

Any word on Drogba's injury? what an unlucky incident man, he's IC's super player, and this is just pure bad luck, I heard he will most probably gonna miss their first game! Reminds me of our last WC appearance, where we encountered so many injuries of our great players, just before the WC!

So many high profile players are struggling with injuries or ruled out this tournament already! Drogba, Ferdinand, Beckham, Nani, Robben, Essien, Fabregas...to name a few.

The latest is that Drogbas surgery was sucessful and he is expected to make the 2nd game. I hope he is able to make a faster recovery as IC's chances of progressing rely on a fit Drogba.

I cannot wait for this tournament to start now! 3 days and counting....

Oh man, Spain is gonna slaughter all their opponents in this edition of WC, today they destroyed Poland 6-0, Fabregas is back from injury, Torres once again proved he's da man:

This team actually plays as a team, so damn entertaining to watch them play! :punk:

I concur Keano! Without doubt the finest footballing side i've ever seen. They are an outstanding advert for the beautiful game.

Worryingly for them though, Iniesta was taken off after 39 minutes with an injury.

I'm not particularly hopeful of England's chances after some poor displays in friendlies and warm-up matches. Though i actually believe that we are probably the only team able to counter Spain's game. The teams that will challenge them are the ones prepared to step up physically and match them fitness wise. Xavi and Iniesta are the engine of the Spain side, counter them and you can effectively ruin their flow, in Gerrard and Lampard we have two maestros able to do just that.

Siamak, you don't rate Drogba or Essien?!?!
