This is why I'm proud my family chose to live in Canada!!

I don't experience this here.

I feel sorry for them, but I am so foreign to this.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm really Persian or just a (dark) Canadian!

Being Persian doesn't have anything to do with living under a theocracy. Most of our parents grew up in a very different Iran, and by the time things got this bad, they were already married. So they never had to put up with these like this. So it's foreign even to the generation that grew up under the Shah. Unfortunately its the norm for many young Iranians living in Iran. But as we can see from the protests, they're sick of it.
