Merriam Webster Dictionary and Thesaurus

Recommended Posts

Here is a Merriam Webster Dictionary I have written. It will do spelling, synonyms, contrast word. You need to be connected to Internet for it to work.

Download all files here: sorry stupid website won’t let you download files bigger than 700k. And save them in a folder. Say: C:\M-W. I will use this folder name later

http://www.freewebs.com/pnkpntr/m-w.part01.rar

http://www.freewebs.com/pnkpntr/m-w.part02.rar

http://www.freewebs.com/pnkpntr/m-w.part03.rar

http://www.freewebs.com/pnkpntr/m-w.part04.rar

http://www.freewebs.com/pnkpntr/m-w.part05.rar

Download/Install his unpacking (WinRar) utility from here

http://www.rarlab.com/rar/wrar34b6.exe

Once you have installed winrar. Go to C:\M-W and double click on m-w.part01.rar. This will unpack all files and produce an exe in the same folder called m-w.exe That file “m-w.exe” is you Merriam Webster Dictionary.

Yes download them all, they are all part of one file that have been broken into smaller pieces. B/C the website that has the file won't allow for files bigger than 750kb to be downloaded (Free Site). After you install Winrar double click on the File m-w.part01.rar

I've already done that...then what?

You have downloaded all, the links (1-5)? Each link you download should get their own name? ie:

m-w.part01.rar

m-w.part02.rar

....

m-w.part05.rar

Then you download and install Winrar (Its like winzip)this program has nothing to do with the dictionary, it just puts all the part files into one file.

So You have downloaded the first link? Make sure the name you saved it is m-w.part01.rar

nice :)

I'm guessing you used strings and arrays? or something along those lines?

Anyways, you should consider making an installer for it ;)

I'll be putting some of my own stuff on my site when I finish building the site :)

Yes, Array and string are used. The answers are parsed from the m-w website, and presented to you.

Farshid,

Is the program working for you? BehnoushY had problems running it. It never returned with the right answer.
