Your Favourite Books

Recommended Posts

No matter how many times I read this book I never get sick of it. I prefer the book over the movie...don't get me wrong...the movie was GREAT but when it comes to books that have been adapted into movies I tend to like the book more than the movie :brows:

I just read the Swedish bestseller "kalla det vad fan du vill" by the young Iranian writer Marjaneh Bakhtiari! Despite minor fact flaws it was an interesting debut writing!

^ i liked that book as well :) def. an interesting book. i remember reading it and thinking the author had some "fresh ideas" to the whole immigrants and integration/segregation debate, it made me think of things i had never considered before.

My favorite recent book is:

Three Cups of Tea

That looks like a sad book... What's it about?

It's about a American climber who was trying to climb K2, failed and got lost in Pakistan's Karakoram Himalaya. Fortunately for him he found a small village of Pakistani's who helped him and he developed this passion and love for the children. When he left, he vowed to return and help build schools for the children.

I don't want to ruin it, but he returns and starts this amazing effort to counteract the repression of the Taliban by buidling schools.

H.
