Famous couples in Iranian Literature?

Recommended Posts

Guest Kevin

Kevin, I think that your Shahnameh skills are much sharper than the rest of ours! It's good to have someone with your knowledge on the subject here :)

Nokare dadashemoonam hastiiim maa

I'm not really that good, but it used to be part of my family. As I told you, I was grown up by a literature woman, and I will be proud of her till my heart stops

thanks man anyways

Persian literature is bult of lovers and couples. Such as:

Shirin and Farhad,

Khosro and Shirin,

Leyli and Majnoon,

Siavash and Sodabeh,

Rostam and his wife (honestly I cant remember her name)

________________________________________________________________

If you want me I can do a little research for you!!

akheh bless you, i just want to find a website or book who will have these couples and their stories!

Hi There,

Let me make a couple of small additions here to help:

Siavash hated Soodabeh because she was married to his father Kai Kavous and she ultimately turned Kai-Kavous against his son and had him killed.

Rostam had a child (Sohrab) with his lover princess Tahmineh. In the original Shahnameh they were never married (although later copies of the Shahnameh for moral reasons had a marriage inserted into the text)

Rostam's father Zal also had a great love affair with Rudabeh (who was from Kabul in Afghanistan)

Anyway, you can find out much of this by reading the Shahnameh of course! LOL and the "cliff notes" version which are the comic books that you can find at
