If you have even heared DJ Star's name or know him as an artist, then you might also know that his song titled "Ok Ok" is an exact replica of Helena Paparizou's "OK" :poke:

I am not trying to call this exactly as a rip off, but worth mentioning anyway, Dariush's new song "Man az To" intro sounds pretty much a copy cat of Alanos Morissette's "Uninvited" :D Here are both music videos:

Darish:

Alanis Morissette:

Nevertheless good to hear Dariush singing some upbeat and mood lifting songs, he always opposed it, I am glad that he finally gave in!

good catch bro!

I just wish Dariush's comeback to upbeat hadn't sounded as if it was arranged by Zoland and recorded back in the 90's! I really liked his old 6/8 (group) stuff and the Nojouki creations.

Anyway Nadia khanoom's song proved itself to be another one of Mehrshad and Pooria Niakan's rip-offs!! It has been altered somewhat but the music is basically the Turkish original's!

Keano, I don't think Man Az To's intro is a rip-off. The closest it can come to (in that regard) is that it is partly inspired by the song Uninvited (which is btw one of my favourites).

Part of Man Az To's overture just happens to hit the same brief sequence of notes as Uninvited, but it doesn't go on like that. It then modulates to major and sounds more like Rastin's songs. But yeah, that small part of it is the same as part of Uninvited. There are numerous examples of songs which at some part happen to sound smiliar to other songs(even in lyrics) but still cant be considerd a "rip-off". If we were to report them in this thread, it would have twice the number of pages as it has now  .

I hate that Nadia song so much! Nice find pourya. She did a good job ruining the Turkish original!

I will update the blog with the song itself later so stay tuned!

Quite honestly when I listen to both versions, I like Shadmehr's better:

absolutely! most of his versions are better than the originals! the only issue is his way of crediting, or better said not crediting! After the blog he changed it to "inspired by a Greek song"! If he only does his crediting right! Say its a Persian version, a rearranged cover on a Greek song and get it over with! If you worry about royalties then dont cover at all, compose entirely own stuff and have no worries as he is talented enough!

I'm suspicious, I'm suspicious, I don't know who you are with these days, I'm suspicious, I'm suspicious, I don't know who the fcuk you are with these days :giggle:

Yes bro, 100% agreed with everything you said, the guy indeed is a very talented young dude, and I don't understand instead of coming up with his own music he resorts to such lame actions. The dude writes some catchy lines and hooks, don't understand him man!

definitely the Tarkan song, or whatever original it has, is used for the Chalim song. One can clearly hear it 0:50 into the Tarkan song. whether it will be credited in some way remains to be seen.

This one is not a ripoff by a Persian artist, but I wanna know if anyone knows about this:

I think Kate Perry's "hot n cold" has a French origin, or is at least inspired by a french song! I was listening to a french radio station this morning, and I happened to hear this French song, which was VERY similar to hot n cold, but much "lighter" with a more "frenchish" mood, sang by a guy at a slower tempo. But the melody, even the syllables of the lyrics were pretty much the same! I just donno the name of that song : :damn: .

for example 0:30 forth in this song reminds of the verses in Perry's song!

I agree on that too!

It is certainly same song, however if you check andy's video Homayoun has been credited for the song so that does make it a decent and legal remake. by the way, funny that andy sings a song by his afghan soundallike! :haha:

Was just listening to the latest Deadmau5 album and found a segment in the song "Some Chords" very familiar!!!! I was racking my head all morning trying to figure out where I'd heard it before and then it hit me.........

First here is the Deadmau5 song...

Listen from 1:36

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__2ABJjxzNo

Now here is Benyamin's latest song "Khate Sevom", listen again from 1:36

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_Nvl5nvihE

I realise this may not constitute a total "rip-off" per se, but there is no question the musical segment in question has been at least "borrowed", again without any credit to the original!!! Despite the released image accompanying the video clearly showing credit to Benyamin himself and Farshad Farsian for music/arrangement lol.

Yea, after the Mario rip-off, this is proving to be a troubling trend with Benyamin. I remember you said at the time that you found the arrangement sloppy lol, which is probably because they ripped this segment and tried to marry it with whatever they concocted themselves.

Btw, the Deadmau5 album is actually very good!
