Three major Iranian cities have exploded in protest today, March 1st, 2011. The brave people of Shiraz, Mashhad, and Tehran rushed the streets in all hours of the day to call for the expulsion of Seyed Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Armor cladded riot police attacked the peaceful demonstrators but failed to break their resolve. The people are tired of the restrictions placed on them by a distant ruling elite with little remorse for its inhuman actions. In central Iran, countless protestors screamed "Death to the Dictator," a reference to Ayatollah Khamenei. A huge poster of Khamenei hung over Niyayesh highway that read: "Khamenei, say hello to the end." Some even called for the establishment of an Iranian Republic, which was heard for the first time in 2009 post-election protests. These protests were sparked by the recent arrest of opposition leaders and their families. Moussavi and Karroubi have been moved to an undisclosed location and as one protestor said: "We won't stop protesting. For every day they're (Moussavi and Karroubi) missing, we'll protest twice as much."
