Indeed its miss Lela! :brows:

a-ha's three first albums were in my opinion all solid! like the song for the bond movie living daylights! then they kinda lost it, i got their new album but haven't listened yet!

I remember Secada, I was one of the few who knew him before this hit! in association with Gloria Estefan and her husband!

This is another fave, both the song and its singer! :brows: Kim Wilde followed up the success of this one in a late 80's album filled with hits, but then she lost it as well!

this was one of her comeback hits in 88! i recall finding her so hot in that makeup and tight outfit! I saw that ass live! sorry about the audio, this had the best picture quality so i took this clip!lol :icecream:

lol Kimmy was hot back in the day!! Don't hear much from her these days though. Same goes for Jon Secada, he seems to be purely focussed on song-writing for others and some backing vocals for prominent latino artists.

I also remember this one hit wonder from around the same period as "Just Another Day".....

I remember that one! Its a good song but I dont know why I feel the same about all one-hit-wonders released that year! I think thats the year the music kinda dropped in quality and led to a rather anemic decade in terms of sustainable music!

In these days of summer there is one summer jam that keeps coming back to me every year since 82! :Yo-man_-_wft:

Haha your welcome Keano jan. I liked that Duran Duran song. The 90's, although admittedly musically/artistically inferior, was the soundtrack to my childhood. There were some gems from that decade, including this one...

REM were great Pedram jaan, that's a great tune, also their all time hit 'Losing my religion' was another gem:

the 80's was the busty ladies' decade and I thought reminsicing two of the memorable mammaries of my teenage years! hehe

Samantha Fox and her Touch Me! Her moaning made me bust a nut back then! :haha: my bedrooms walls were covered by her topless posters! Sadly that lovely fave and body has turned to something far from pretty these days! :(

And her dark counterpart, the Italian Sabrina who couldn't really sing, but then again no one really cared! :haha: watch her nips at 02:18! I loved the liberal TV of the 80's ! :clap2:

Some great videos guys!!

Keano jan, REM we're a great band during that period, its a shame they fizzled out into mediocrity later that decade.

Pourya jan, was that nipple-slip video actually aired on regular television?!? Great set of hooters!

Love the Spandau Ballet clip Michellica, my personal fave of theirs has to be "Gold"....

Another great British band from the 80s, always was a great admirer of Mick Hucknells voice!! This is a personal fave of mine...

yes Pedram jan, at least we saw those nips on sky channel and music box which were both UK broadcasting channels!

being a "new romantic" I liked Spandau Ballet (I recall finding the name so romantic til I actually understood what it meant!looool), however they came always second best next to Duran Duran for me! :D They had a song called "Only When You Leave ..." or something which I really liked!

another band which marked the 80's with this song in the OST of a movie which marked the 80's! Simple Minds with their "Dont You Forget About Me"! :clap2:

again another video removed from youtube, so go here:

lol, it's a sad state of affairs when we have regressed in terms of sexual liberalism from decades ago. That sort of thing these days would cause uproar and an abundance of complaints with the tevevision watchdogs. Remember Janets inadvertant nipple slip at the superbowl hehe. I remember even in the nineties, artists were more risk taking, Sir Mix Alot and Snoop Dog pretty much played with full-on porn in their vids. These days we prob see more flesh and cleavage, but nothing more hehe.

Yea the Simple Minds song was great. Did they have any other hits?

The Aussie band Crowded House had a couple of big hits in the 80s and early nineties, my fave....

If I recall correctly they had a hit with Belfast child as well!

Yes I remember Crowded House and also these two international one hit wonders from down under! there are very few artists from Australia that last longer than one hit outside the continent! Kylie is one, INXS were huge before Hutchence's death, and then Savage Garden!

Yea, you're right, very few seem to hold on to international success for long. I think another exception was perhaps Silverchair. Great band in their own right.

Pourya jan, we're you ever into the massive cultural and music phenomenon that swept the UK in the 90's, "Brit-Pop"> Man it totally rejuvenated my love of music in the mid-90s. The obvious kings of the throne were Oasis, Blur and The Verve. There we're however many other bands that produced hits in that category...

Pedram jan, when the britpop came I was a student and this was the music that students listened to in Sweden! Exclusively even, back then! However being a guy with a liking for electronic music I never really cared much for the early wave! There were some songs by Oasis and Suede I liked but I simply hated Blur!loooool I found them, their appearance, their music and videos incredibly annoying!lol But the Verve and other similar acts which came around the millennium shift kinda developed the style to a darker which appealed to me more! There were many acts from Sweden that also got this down right! One of them was Eskobar who had this HIT with the lovely Heather Nova whom I had a crush in back in mid 90's! :D

also this band which I really loved the music of! It was rockier and catchier choruses!

one of recent successful Swedish bands is Mando Diao! Really love this 60's inspired song!

Wow, i was unaware of its impact outside the UK pourya jan. Those are some great songs! Great to here that you also were able to experience such a great musical movement. Remember these gems too?

Oasis were my favourite band from this era, by far. I never forget the summer this single was released after the monumental success of their previous album "Whats the Story...", i don't think i've ever anticipated a release so much.

By the way pourya jan, Sweden also had some great bands that i dug in the 90s (and still do now). Backyard Babies was one of them..

lol I recall those supergrass guys being so frickin ugly! :haha: think it was Ali G who said that The Monkeys were called the monkeys but these guys look like monkeys! :))

Yes I know Backyard Babies and have met Dregen several times in the pubs, but to be honest that music doesnt strike any chord with me! There was also Hellacopters which Dregen was a member of before BB and there are many such bands in Sweden! The Swedish rock festivals are filled with them! Listen to this cover on Umbrella which is kinda cool and became a hit here!

this is another band from my area

and this one

we also produce much of today's oldschool HM! this is a band from the area! This is more my Shoot that Backyard's music!

Yea, Backyard Babies went downhill after the "Making Enemies is Good" album (a great CD!!). now their music is just sleeze rock which gives me very little interest. I've seen them in concert and Dregen always comes across like a true old school rocker, what is he like in person?

There is a little known band from Sweden that i admire.

Their early stuff was very bland and boring, but TIAMATs "Prey" album is a masterpiece!! I strongly urge you to check it out if you havent already pourya jan. Dark rock, mixed with trip-hop and electronica with catchy songs. Unfortunately their other albums are very weak. A few years ago i was hooked on melodic metal, Swedens forte!! Bands such as Opeth, Siolwork and In Flames. Sweden always had such a vibrant rock scene. i was lucky enough to meet Opeth in person after a gig in Birmingham Uk, we had some drinks and they were some of the nicest guys ive ever met, very friendly, down to earth people.
