Its funny that I wrote in my blog, the first time I heard the Googoosh academy song he was included in, that it sounded like a Ramin Zamani song! Even though Zamani had nothing to do with that song, it was mainly Arsalan's singing that made me think that! I have no idea if he and Zamani were connected back then but it goes without saying that Arsalan is heavily influenced by Hooman in his ornamentation! But I like his voice and the sound-alike tendencies are in this case charming and in my opinion he will grow beyond that eventually. I am really hopeful. :)

I think the main reason for that being is bro that obviously Arsalan seems to be Hooman's fan, thus adapting some of Hooman's vocal techniques and ornamentation, even his tone is either naturally similar to that of Hooman's or after years of imitating Hooman's voice/singing/songs he has un-deliberately employed Hooman's tone as well (Goddamnit cheghadr Hooman Hooman goftam)

But truth of the matter is that both Hooman and Arsalan's vocal mentor has been Ramin Zamani who has guided them both through how to sing his songs and how to express/stress certain words and they both are heavily influenced by Ramin's vocal coaching and I clearly hear that.

Unlike you though bro I so far have not been impressed with the 3 singles of Arsalan, I say this because I know Ramin's main intention is to turn Arsalan into a complete commercial and money making singer, and he has so far failed to deliver in doing so. But again that's only my personal opinion, and indeed in music everyone has different taste, otherwise many singers wouldn't have been where they are and how successful they've become.

In my opinion the main reason why Arsalan will not appeal to the same target group that KaHoo appeals or at least has once appealed to is that his appearance is not on par with that particular heartthrob image. He is not a bad looking guy, but he already shows signs of aging (the hair) and in my opinion he should get further away from that image and target group in order to find his niche. Today with all the competition from inside Iran its tough to compete in that arena of teen idols and the LA-industry doesnt have any cards up its sleeve right now. I am not really liking his two first songs that are written by Zamani, its been a while since I ahve liked anything written by Zamani. The song above however which Arsalan himself has written appeals to me. All songs are production wise well-done but there is a lot of difference between "Eshtebaah" and "Jaade" in terms of tone and ambition which I find promising. Either way it will be interesting to see where they both are heading.

Here is a song that we listened to a few thousand times while being on the road in US! It has that haunting quality that wont let you go! Both in the atmosphere and the voices. Specially on the way from Vegas to LA we stopped by the desert and this song really suited the ambiance!
